German Reichstag Session Reports Including Database of Members of the German Reichstag (1867-1938)
The offer 'Verhandlungen des Deutschen Reichstags' (in English: German Reichstag Session Reports) provides access to the digitized reports and appendices of the German Reichstag and its predecessors from 1867 to 1942:
Reichstag (North German Confederation / Parliaments of the German Customs Union) (1867-1895)
Reichstag of the German Empire (1895-1918)
Reichstag (Weimar Republic / National Socialism) (1918-1942)
The stenographic reports represent one of the most important sources on recent German history and are made available in their entirety (including all appendices) by the Bavarian State Library. In addition, a database of Reichstag members with 5,211 personal data records was compiled from the Parliamentary Almanacs and Reichstag Compendiums of the years 1867-1938, which offers further access to the source material. To basic data (standardised surname, date of birth, place of birth, gender) were assigned variable data of the individual legislative periods (party affiliations, name changes, places of residence and activity, constituencies, denominations, professions, biographical outlines, portraits).
