Historical Performance Materials of the Bavarian State Opera
The historical library of the Munich National Theatre ranks among the world's largest and most valuable opera libraries. This collection (shelf mark group St.th. for 'Staatstheater') was transferred to the department of music of the Bavarican State Library in the 20th century and comprises the performance materials of around 955 stage performances from the period of around 1780 to the start of the 20th century. It comprises the complete scores, instrumental and vocal scores, piano reductions, text books and role books (e.g. director's books, prompt books). The collection has been catalogued online entirely and can be explored in OPACplus.
